The Following are the Komoot maps of my cycling trip along the Greenways from Vienna to Prague with my dog Zuri 2019.

Here is the collection of all the routes I cycled through Austria and the Czech Republic along the Greenways from Vienna to Prague with my e-bike and my dog Zuri in 2019.

From Orth an der Donau we continue on EuroVelo 6 (EV 6) to Vienna, from there my dog Zuri and I continue on the GreenWays, which connects Vienna with Prague. This is also the EuroVelo 9 and EuroVelo 13 in parts. In the Czech Republic, we cycle through the Podyji National Park. This is designated as a long-distance cycle route, but I really reach my limits here with my e-bike and dog trailer…

In the Podyji National Park, my dog Zuri and I found one of the 7th huts in the national park through a tip from a local, where we could sleep protected from the rain. However, 6 other hikers thought so too, which made it very cosy and sociable. The next morning we were woken up at 5am because the hut was used as a supply station for a race. Zuri and I continued on the GreenWays towards Prague. We drove through beautiful forests and past the Czech Republic’s umpteen castles such as Vranov Nad Dyji Castle or Uhercice u Nojma. Due to a road closure in a very hilly area and a diversion, the battery of my e-bike was so empty that we would not make it to the next town and once again all the restaurants in the area were closed… Larger towns in the stage: Podyji National Park, Slavonice, Nova Bystrice, Jindrichuv Hradec, Tabor

After a rainy night at the campsite in Tabor, my dog Zuri and I set off on the greenways towards Prague on our e-bikes. It rains all day, which makes the riding very exhausting and cold. As all the floors are soaked, we sleep in a bus stop for the first time. The next morning the sun finally comes out again and we set off for Prague. In the middle of a huge intersection, the chain suddenly jumps off and I don’t manage to fix it myself. Thank goodness I’m lucky again and help is at hand. We ride through Prague and realise that the cobblestones are not made for bicycles and make riding much more difficult. We continue north along EuroVelo 7 to Dresden (Elbe cycle path).
